Monthly Dividend Income

I’ve been interested in making money with dividends for a while (in a casual way), but I didn’t really look into the details until recently. I had an idea that by buying stocks that have a good dividend payout, I could receive a monthly income was intriguing. This does work but the drawback is that you have to watch the stocks that pay dividends because the dividend yield can go down. It all depends on the company.

Unfortunately, the more money that you can invest, the more you can make. I have received dividends but my investments are so small that they are not worth claiming and I just reinvest the dividends back into the account. The reason that I have small account is that I am very risk averse, so it is my own fault. I bought some stocks in a Canadian company a few months ago, while they were cheap. The price per share has increased 102% since I bought the stocks. I had an instinct that the value would rise significantly but I didn’t invest enough money. If I was 100% certain (and less risk averse) I would have been willing to borrow as large a sum of money as I could, used it all to buy stocks in the company, sold them today and doubled my money in a matter of months.

The news being circulated in the mainstream news outlets regarding stocks and shares is not always accurate and could lead a person to make bad decisions. It is better to research this subject in a more detailed way with information coming from less mainstream personalities.

The way to generate dividend income is by building a portfolio of high yield dividend stocks that pay out at different times throughout the year, ideally getting a worthwhile income every month. The stocks that you pick should also have a history of raising their dividends regularly. To get a worthwhile monthly check would require a substantial investment. I saw one plan that claimed to return $1000 per month, throughout the year but it required a $50,000 investment and if that accounts for your total savings, then I expect that you would be too risky for most people. According to a 2018 GOBankingRates survey, 58% of Americans had less than $1000 in their savings accounts.

The basic idea of dividend income is sound and you can always start the process in a small way and reinvest the dividends that you receive. It will be a learning experience.

Watching The News

Is daily consumption of News from TV, newspapers,  the internet and any other source bad for your health?.

The theory that what you think about most is what you become, would suggest that a person should avoid the daily consumption of News, and only absorb it when necessary. A few years ago, it became apparent to many people that the mainstream News organizations all had their own particular agenda and that each of those News outlets presented topics favorable to their agenda in a positive manner and did the opposite to topics on their blacklist. Even with bias, I would guess that 90% of all mainstream News is negative in some manner.

I think that initially, the online News websites, blogs etc, attempted to broadcast impartial news, but once this ultramodern form of News dissemination became popular and was recognized to possess some power, many of the internet News services seem to have been co-opted into taking sides, co-opted by who and for what purpose?,  well I don’t know.

The majority of the News is negative, and this is why it is probably bad for a person’s health. If a person can use affirmations, both visual and audio, to change their core thought processes resulting in positive, productive, life changing results then watching a daily stream of negativity and fear producing material on the TV can be assumed to have the power to influence the individual in a  negative, unproductive and life changing (for the worse) manner.

In his book, “Think And Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill wrote “Our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds, and by means with which no man is familiar, these “magnets” attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts”. The author is basically stating that we attract what we think about most, so after a person’s daily (or more) mainly negative News programming, what conditions will they attract into their lives?.

I am not suggesting that anyone should become one of those annoying hyper positive neurotics that one meets from time to time, but it has been stated time and again in various different ways that “you are what you think”  by many respected people, so be mindful of what you think about.

Test the theory for yourself and do not watch or read any News for 30 days and then evaluate your health after this period. Just about everything in the News broadcasts are beyond our control anyway and if an item is negative, knowing that the extent of our individual influence over the situation is just to “know” about it, creates even more negative vibrations within the mind and body. Sometimes it is better not to know certain things in order to not have to process them through our minds.

What do you think?
